Dr. Paz is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and maintains private practices throughout Texas specializing in sleep apnea treatment. Dr. Paz is enthusiastic and passionate about the treatment of sleep disorders and his role as a dentist in managing the airway. His private practices are limited to airway management and TMD/TMJ therapy, and he has managed thousands of patients.
Airway dentistry is a newly emerging field that focuses on the structure of the mouth and its impact on breathing. Sleep-disordered breathing is detected by observing signs of mouth breathing while you sleep. Dr. Paz can take several factors into account, including tooth wear, tongue position, and soft tissue health. Ultimately, the goal is to prevent sleep apnea, which can lead to more serious health issues in the future.

After graduating from St. Mary’s University with a degree in Biochemistry, Dr. Paz began his graduate training at Tufts University with a focus on Molecular Craniofacial Development, specifically in craniofacial orthopedics. Dr. Paz completed his clinical training at the University of Texas School of Dentistry-Houston. Dr. Paz has authored numerous publications and lectured extensively throughout the United States on topics ranging from bone reconstruction and craniofacial development to evidence-based practice and obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Paz remains committed to excellent patient care by having served as adjunct faculty at the UT-Health School of Dentistry in San Antonio, helping train other dentists. Currently, he is working on developing the Sleep Research Clinic at Texas A&M-Health. He serves on several committees for the AADSM, including the Dental Assembly-AASM, where he is Vice-Chair.
